Score and Parts for Performance
Parts are for a regular big band line up of 5 saxes, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, piano, guitar, bass and drums. The score is untransposed. Doubles – there is no woodwind or trumpet doubling required. Solos – alto OR tenor saxophone, trumpet/trombone trading, rubato piano. Alto or tenor saxohone can take the first solo at F, G and H. The trumpet/trombone trading at K, L and M is meant to be very crazy and hectic. Once you get to letter L they should be playing together over each other. The piano rubato moment at N can take as long as you want, it is meant to be a moment of calm amidst stormy waters.
Perform this music with your own big band! For each composition, PDFs of the score (untransposed) and the parts for all instruments are provided, along with a WAV file of our recorded version. Playalong WAV files are also provided for drums, bass, guitar, piano as well as a version where the improvised solos are muted – these are ideal for practicing.
